WORKER ACCOMMODATION
LOCATION - Haugesund, Norway
REQUIREMENT - Vetco Aibel AS needed to accommodate workers at its Haugesund yard, where it was carrying out installation of topside facilities on the Alvheim floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel in parallel with other major projects for the offshore oil and gas industry.
It did not want the accommodation to leave a permanent footprint nor have to wait for it to be constructed and industry regulations meant that each of the workers' bedrooms must have en-suite facilities.

SOLUTION - Bibby Bergen Coastel™
BENEFITS - The Bibby Bergen has 182 bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, fully-equipped kitchen, large restaurant and dining areas with seating for 130 people per sitting, plus laundry and changing rooms. Systems for shore connection include power, fresh water, sewage and telecoms. Fire fighting equipment - as required by Norwegian building regulations - was installed around the Coastel™.
Flexible and adaptable, with effective health, safety and environmental protection procedures, the Bibby Bergen provided a floating version of a Norwegian-standardland camp, and is ideally suited to the geography of the area, where fjords often
