Bibby Renaissance is the latest addition to the group’s Coastel fleet and comprises 332 furnished, en-suite guest bedrooms, fully-fitted kitchen, restaurant, business centre, bar area and large, fully-equipped gymnasium.
Coastels are chartered by clients across a range of industries, such as construction, engineering and LNG installations, and aim to offer a flexible, more comfortable solution to housing temporary workers during the lifespan of a project.
Currently sited near Singapore, Bibby Renaissance is immediately available for mooring alongside a berth and, like other Coastels in the fleet, is built to meet UK building and fire safety regulations.
Coastels can be quickly installed and removed, leaving minimal environmental impact once their tenure has been concluded. Bibby Renaissance also features fully automatic air conditioning, water purification system and wi-fi connection throughout.
Stephen Blaikie, business development director at Bibby Maritime, said: “It can often be a major challenge for companies to find quality accommodation for temporary staff, especially when projects are situated in remote locations.
“Coastels are a popular choice as they offer a flexible way of housing temporary workers in a comfortable, clean environment, which in turn can help to improve staff retention, another common issue for employers with a temporary workforce.
“We decided to make this latest investment in response to consistently high demand from businesses in the construction and energy industries.
“Bibby Renaissance is suited to charters of any length and typically charterers enjoy cost savings compared to land-based alternatives after just four months, meaning it is also a cost effective option.”
Bibby Renaissance is one of eight vessels in the Coastel fleet, each with different high quality specifications and, with an overall length of 95 metres, is the largest ever built.
