Coastels are floating accommodation vessels suitable for mooring alongside a berth. They can be chartered for short or long term use and utilised during the early development of a project or throughout the project's life. Bibby Maritime has a fleet of Coastels with varied specifications and facilities able to meet the needs of most clients.

Since the early 1980s Bibby Maritime have been providing Coastel accommodation to customers worldwide, offering swift and cost-effective high quality solutions.

We offer a practical and flexible alternative to land based accommodation, and our years of experience in providing Coastels to different projects worldwide ensures you benefit from individual professional management from your first enquiry through to your off-hire meeting after charter and beyond.

The number and furnishing of the bedrooms depends on Coastel configuration and can be tailored to your requirements, with the flexibility of single or multiple occupancy; all with en suite facilities. All our vessels provide onboard canteens and restaurants, leisure facilities, and laundries, and can also offer conference/training rooms and office spaces if required.

Your Questions Answered

What is a Coastel exactly?

A Coastel is a floating accommodation vessel suitable for mooring alongside a berth or quay. It can be used to accommodate workers on projects taking place in remote locations or where existing accommodation is expensive or difficult to find.

Where can a Coastel be berthed?

Coastels are not suitable for offshore work as they need to be berthed alongside the shore, ideally moored to a berth or quay. Our vessels have worked to support projects around the world, and we work with our customers to work out the best solution for mooring close to a project.

How much does it cost to hire a Coastel?

Coastels offer a cost-effective alternative to using local hotels or land-based temporary solutions. Costs vary for each project, depending on the vessel used and project location, but we try to offer flexible pricing to make it as easy as possible for our customers.

Do you have a Coastel available in my area?

Our vessels are on short and long-term charters around the world, and locations change regularly - to find out where Coastels are currently positioned, take a look at our current vessel locations page. Coastels can easily be towed to new locations, so give us a call to find out about our vessel availability.
